Cornhole Rules & Regs

Board Distance

• We use the common fun distance of 18 - 21 ft between the front edges of the boards—depending on venue size

• Regulation is 27 ft.

Scoring

• First team to reach 21 points.

  • There is no penalty for going over. We need to keep the pace of the tournament moving.

• In the hole = 3 points

• On the board = 1 point

• Opponents cancel each other out

  • Example: Team A scores 7 points, Team B scores 4 points —> Team A earns 3 points for the round.

Order of Play

• Teammates stand at opposite boards, on the same side.

• Bags must be thrown from behind the front edge of the board.

• Throwers alternate tosses.

• Rock, Paper, Scissors for which team throws first

• Then, winner of the previous round starts

• This is a double elimination tournament.
